Stuart Servetar has been painting, writing and writing about art for many years. In the 80s he lived all over Brooklyn, showed in random galleries and attended Millay and MacDowell Art Colonies. In the late 80s/early 90s, he travelled through East Europe and Russia and settled in Prague. From there Stuart made shows across Central Europe and wrote on food and culture. In the mid to late 90s, Stuart returned to NYC and painted and wrote on art for NYPress, Art Issues, New Art Examiner, Art in America, Time Out NY and many others. He also wrote on culture for Esquire and Details and showed his art in group shows across NYC. In the 2000s, Stuart continued to paint and began writing fiction, screenplays, poems and the blog Artholes. He also started a family with Beth Servetar. They have two sons, Max and Simon, now grown young men. In the 2010s, Stuart started an educational business, ibidPREP. Today, Stuart continues to run his business, paint and write. He splits his time between NYC and Ghent, NY.
